Family Focus Groups: Reflecting on Successes & Challenges

Highlander Institute Spotlight Series

What?

A strong first step in tackling the uncertainty of school in the fall is to hold one or more family focus groups.  Distance Learning gave parents/guardians a bigger glimpse than ever before into the learning experiences of their children. Although summer is upon us, right now is the time to gather feedback on the challenges and bright spots of distance learning while it is still fresh in families’ minds. Families have deep funds of knowledge about how their children learn best. Conversations with families will help you form more trusting, productive relationships that are more important than ever as we determine what the 2020-2021 school year will look like.
