Lesson Structures for Student Reflection
Highlander Institute Spotlight Series
What?
Lessons that embed student self-reflection and meaningful feedback lead to increased engagement and ownership. These practices help students to develop awareness of their own thought processes and to produce personal insights from their learning experiences. In distance and combination (hybrid) learning formats, maintaining these feedback and reflection routines is arguably more important than ever, as they align well with student agency and promote rich tasks with a longer arc across a unit in favor of lists of shorter assignments.
