Introducing the Learning Pit
Highlander Institute Spotlight Series
What?
As we launch a new school year in unprecedented times, some enduring truths remain whether we find ourselves in virtual or brick and mortar classrooms. As always – and perhaps now more than ever – it’s important to cultivate an academic mindset wherein all students believe they belong to the classroom community and that they have the ability to grow and succeed with effort. In this video, we will introduce James Nottingham’s concept of The Learning Pit and its accompanying launch activity, The Learning Challenge.
Why?
The Learning Pit concept and the Learning Challenge activity help students engage in and persevere through productive struggle.
